One fine day in 2021, while scrolling through my Twitter timeline, I came across a badminton-related question. As someone who loves badminton, I replied without a second thought. I had followed this woman a while back, but little did I know that replying to that one tweet would lead me to a best friend for life.
Fast forward to the next year—it was Vaishali’s birthday. She chose to wear her grandmother’s saree, a gift she treasured as a keepsake. Vaishali wanted some photos in the saree, and I said, “Let’s do it.” We headed to Pebbles Beach in ECR, and what a great shoot we had! At one point, Vaisha sat by the shore, facing the sea, and started singing Netru Avan Irundhaan.
I quickly said, “Hold on to that feeling! I’ll shoot a video for Reels. You have to look melancholic, okay?” She was hesitant, but she couldn’t refuse. As the sun set, I took six clips in under five minutes (humble brag). Just six clips—but she couldn’t stop laughing in five of them! “Velangidum,” I teased her. “If you keep laughing like this, how will I match it to the sad song?” But honestly, nothing makes me happier than seeing her laugh her heart out. I once read, “Watching someone fall in love with a part of themselves that caused insecurity is both attractive and inspiring.” That’s exactly what I saw in her that day.
I joked about her not having someone, and she took it seriously. She manifested with all her heart that if she ever got married, she’d return to that very beach to be photographed with her fiancé. Cut to 2023, just before her 29th birthday, we found ourselves back on this beautiful beach again—this time for her pre-wedding shoot. It fills me with so much pride to share not only those pre-wedding photos but also the wedding photos of my best friend, Vaisha. If you want to know why the blog is titled ‘Organic Love Story,’ that’s an entirely different story for another day. :)
