It's been a good 12 years since I last wrote a blog post, but today feels like the perfect moment to share something close to my heart – a beautiful maternity shoot I had the honor of capturing recently.

After wrapping up a photography gig at a CSK event, I got a call from Praveen, a friend of Bhagya's and a filmmaker. He wanted someone to photograph his wife Abi's maternity, and I couldn't have been more excited – especially when I heard they wanted their pet Star in the pictures. As a dog lover, that was the cherry on top.

We decided to keep it simple and shoot at their home. When Praveen showed me a glimpse of their living room, filled with plants and unique designs, I was hooked. The date was set, and I couldn't wait to get started. This maternity shoot was quite different from my usual experiences. Abi didn't have any particular expectations; she simply wanted to capture some memories without any emphasis on traditional bump pictures. In fact, I had to gently encourage her to pose for a few shots. I joked about my uncanny knack for maternity shoots: the last two times, the baby arrived the very next day! Praveen was shocked and warned Abi to brace for labor. This time, their baby boy, Karna, made us wait a week. Guess my magic touch took a vacation!
